Which switch to choose for VLAN forwarding?

Hi friends!
There is a task: office No. 1 with several subnets and office No. 2, to which these subnets need to be delivered. Offices are connected by one 1GbE cable.
Do I understand correctly that I need to purchase two smart switches with VLAN support and a trunking function, thanks to which routers and are combined over one cable?
I hope I've made the problem clear. Please do not judge strictly, I am faced with such a task for the first time.

И зачем два коммутатора? Маршрутизатор обычно сам может добавлять теги 802.1q
