As an option - Apple TV g2 + XBMC, I use this combination as a media player. It is possible to watch iptv (unfortunately, I did not test it myself - the provider does not give).

Google TV does not support either multicast (udp://@) or http video streams in a format other than mp4 (files are supported, streams are not).
