Which SSD under Linux?

Good afternoon. There is an obsession with taking a ~60Gb SSD for the ArchLinux root partition. Purpose: system acceleration and silence. The current HDD WD Green has recently been quite disappointing with its speed.
Which is better to take? Why is everyone praising the Crucial M4 and why is it better than the same OCZ Agility 3 (recommended on thg)? If the difference is only in speed, then this is not so important for me, but if the M4 is more reliable and probably without problems, then it makes sense to overpay (the difference is $ 32).
And are there any pitfalls when working in ArchLinux? (I looked at the archwiki article)

WD Green is still not for the root of the system. Especially if it is incorrectly marked up (without 4Kb alignment).
With SSDs, again, it can be important to match the block size and filesystem alignment with the blocks that the SSD internally erases data with.

The Crucial M4 has a fairly low warranty return rate and decent speed for a relatively low price.

There is a question here. What chip does the Agility 3 have? If the same as the M4 and Intel 510, then there is no difference. If it's different, then you need to think :) Now it's time to sleep, and it's too late to look for which chip Agility 3 has

www.harddrivebenchmark.net/ will help you choose. Himself on arch-e under OCZ vertex 2. when I bought it, I was happy with how much everything became faster.

The most common CSSD-F115GB2-A . A little less than one year. Two operating systems, the main one is Ubuntu 11.10. Completely satisfied. Reallocated_Sector_Ct is still 0. The option for today is not the best, it makes sense to take something with SATA III.

Take an SSD on a marvel chip, either the mentioned M4 or the new Corsair Performance Series Pro (it's even a little faster in theory). They have the best reviews and the actual speed almost does not differ from the declared one, unlike the SSD on SandForce.

At OCZ, friezes simply kill ... otherwise it seems like a normal screw.

OCZ Agility 3 is a rare piece of shit, the declared speeds are fake, they are only in programs that test the speed of the propeller and only if zeros are used as test data. Plus, there is also a proprietary set of glitches, such as the screw falling off after a reboot, so that even in the BIOS it is not visible, recommendations not to use sleep mode, friezes, etc.

I'm using OCZ Vertex 2 under AgiliaLinux. Everything works, TRIM works.
