Which ssd to choose for ide connector?

I will connect ssd via CD, but there is an old ide connector on my computer. The ssd itself will be sata. Are there any restrictions, such as volume? And will such a design work at all? And another question to catch up, the sidiroms are all standard sizes, I can’t go wrong with them?
