Which RAID controller to choose under the mirror from the SSD for vSphere 6.0?
There are 2 standalone hosts with vSphere loaded from a flash drive. There is a pack of SATA SSDs. There is no HDD at all. Must be assembled from SSD RAID10 on one host and RAID1 on another. ESXi does not want to work with an onboard RAID controller, so you need something iron that will not become a bottleneck for a flash array.
Unfortunately, I don’t understand RAID controllers, so I ask for your help.

Evgeny Ferapontov : why is another server not needed now, like a pack of network cards?
IMHO, they suggested a completely working option - to make a soft array on FreeNAS / NAS4Free and fumble it
, besides, the onboard controller is never made of iron, you can make it "worse" if the raid controller cache is slower than SSD, and as a variant of the piece of iron - not RAID, but an ordinary HBA, which will chew SSDs in terms of speed \ iops
