DDoS Protection
Alexey Skobkin, 2018-08-04 01:25:20

Which providers provide basic VPS protection from DDoS or separate services for traffic filtering?

There is a TeamSpeak server hosted by vscale. Sometimes it is ddosed and the provider blocks access to it.
We need a hoster who, firstly, will not block the server for being DDoSed, and secondly, will try to do some basic filtering. It is better to cost within $20-30 per month. Server parameters are quite small - 512 megabytes of memory, ~ 10 gigabytes of disk space and a good network (at least a terabyte of traffic).
If we were talking about HTTP, we could take CloudFlare, but here there is another protocol on top of TCP (TeamSpeak) and you can’t get off so easily.
Ideally, I would like to find options both in Russia and in the near (in terms of routing and pings) abroad.
Alternatively, if there are some not very expensive services that will filter traffic in front of the server (like cloudflare or qrator) - it will also work.

FirstFVS offers the following protection (for a fee):

An example of calculating the cost per day
For example, on May 3, the bandwidth per day was 5 Mbps. The next day, an amount equal to the cost of a 5 Mbps channel for one day will be debited from your personal account:
250 / 31 ⨯ 5 = 40.32 rubles
where: 5 is the width of the used channel per day, 250 is the cost of 1 Mbps per month , 31 is the number of days in May.

Or you can set up the security feature at the ISPManager level for free.
