The main functions that you will need are:
1) file storage, which you can safely climb from Mac and also watch from PS3
2) FTP
3) torrent client
4) web-server for projects
5) web client for accessing the server
All night I tried to install Cent OS 6.5 and constant error and many solutions did not help.
In fact, after reading the Internet, I looked that, in principle, Cent OS is the most suitable.
What are your OS preferences?

It all depends on your "savvy" in this matter.
If you want to quickly and without problems - then install Ubuntu
If not quickly, with troubles, but without frills and reliably - then install debian
If you are too lazy to delve into it at all, then install the finished assembly. For example here: rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4046329
If you have problems with Linux - use Windows :)
1) DLNA server - any
2) FTP
3) Utorrent with web shell
4) IIS or WAMP
5) I don't know what it means
if the number 5 means the web interface for setting up all of the above (1-4) and do not want to buy Synology, you can view it at www.zentyal.org/server
xpenology.com Installed
in 15 minutes. Everything is. Everything is working. Very comfortably. I use 2 months.
