Which option is better two OS (Windows or Linux)
or a virtual machine inside one OS?

There is no instantaneous switching; if one system "falls", both systems may crash.
One of the OS is still "kinder" to you, so it's better to install the second on a virtual machine so that experiments on the guest do not affect the operation of the host system.

I work on mac. There are Windows and linux in parallel.
In Windows, you can even play stalker.
