Which macbook of past years to choose instead of MBP Pro 15 "Late 2012?

I have a 12-year-old model with this config + SSD 512.

In general, it’s enough for most tasks - interface design in Sketch, Final Cut, Ableton. But sometimes it is felt that more power would not hurt. In this regard, I thought about a slow transition to a more recent model. Unfortunately, I am not at all aware of the Macbook hardware after 2012, so I ask you to suggest possible applicants and which models should be avoided. I won’t be able to make a noticeable leap right away, so I’ll most likely consider models of 15-16 years.

you have a good machine. if not quite dreary on it, I would not have changed at all.
now a very interesting period associated with the transition to arm.
if they take off, then the aftermarket will be littered with models on intel at fairly modest prices.
if they don't take off, you can always buy something newer.

The 16th year is definitely not worth taking, in general, even for free!
If only 15ku 2015 is considered as an option, it will be a bit faster than yours.
On account of the transition to ARM - very optimistic. This is at least 2-3 years necessary, if such an expectation is ok for you, then you should not change it yet ...

And it makes sense to spend money for the sake of an "imperceptible jump", if everything works and is generally satisfactory
. I understand that if you had an air or the weakest firmware of those years, the answer to the question of the advisability of switching even to the 2015 version would be obvious, but with your configuration, spend, roughly speaking, 50% of the money, albeit on the top version, but with outdated hardware and used, if for 100% of the money you can buy something modern and, importantly, new from the factory and with a guarantee, albeit not the top version.
If I were you, I would sit on the current configuration for some more time, trim the software requirements (browsers and other software), since the RAM reserve allows (now the new hardware is no more than 16 base) to solve the financial issue.
PS. I'm sitting on 13 "/2015, everything is ok, the problems were only with the anti-glare coating. From the next generations (2016, but not sure), at least total problems with the new keyboard began.
