Which LTE modem is ideally compatible with Mikrotik?
Hello.
I want to set up a backup channel (main via ethernet) via an LTE modem on a Mikrotik router, model hAP ac² (RBD52G-5HacD2HnD-TC) RouterOS 6.48.4 (Stable).
Question: what LTE modem will work today without special dances with a tambourine?
I look towards the manufacturer Huawei, I already wanted to buy the E3372h-320, but in time I came across a forum where they write that such a scheme will work only when upgrading to 7.1beta (Development), and in my case it is better to stay at 6.48.
Tell me, please, who has already done this, what to choose? according to the budget, I want to meet 3-5 thousand rubles.

Recently I was puzzled by the same question, it was necessary to order several dozen LTE modems to work with Mikrotik routers. Huawei E3372h-320 dropped out in the same way. We took Alcatel IK41VE1 for a test, it worked stably for a month, without problems. Compatible with RouterOS since 6.48. Of the minuses - there is no way to normally monitor the parameters of the cellular network (the signal level is displayed only in the form of "sticks" in the web interface). The declared current consumption is 400 mA, so the load capacity of the USB ports should be enough for any device.
UPD. As it turned out, the modem has hidden settings and diagnostics available via direct links. The list is here - https://disk.yandex.ru/i/vOw5wsDEOSWNLg
Start with a wiki that lists exactly what has been tested and has a note with problems.
I’ll add on my own that it’s worth buying a good active usb hub right away (active means with your powerful PSU). Often faced with the fact that under load the modem falls off on power supply, I did not observe this with hubs.
Find out on which bands your operator broadcasts and select a device with the same ones. If there are more matches, the signal reception will be better, respectively, the Internet will be stable and fast.
I have a bunch of https://mikrotik.com/product/RB941-2nD
HUAWEI E3372h-153
worked for more than 3 years,
though the wire changed the range and I had to buy another E3372h modem,
but immediately monitor the speed, it may be better to buy an antenna, and it is desirable that the temperature be less than 30 at high speeds, modems get very hot and fall off due to overheating
Huawei E3372h-153 - worked as far as I remember
ZTE MF833R - works exactly
