Which Linux distribution to install on a PC?

Hello.
Question for those who use Linux on the desktop.
Because win10 didn’t make me very happy, and in general there is no desire to return to windows, but the question arose. Which Linux distro do you have installed on your home. PC? What do you recommend?
At the moment PC: i5, 16gb, ssd 128 and hdd 1T; GTX750 2048MB.
What will happen on the PC: virtualization, small scripts and projects in Python/C++; at times it will connect remotely to the Nth (5-10) number of computers for work, well, there are little things.

For a beginner - Ubuntu.
Satisfies all the above requirements + there is a lot of information in the net.
