Which laser diode driver to choose?

I don't know much about analog electronics. I have already managed to dig through specialized forums and Google up to page 30 of commercials. But this is so, an introduction.
I need to assemble a driver for a blue laser, 1W, 1A, 4.8V Power supply
2-3 batteries (i.e. Uin = 3...4.5V) I'm confused, I'll be very grateful if anyone can help
