4 cores, 8-12 GB RAM.
There are no special computers for programmers, you just need a powerful laptop so that it can spin a voracious IDE and just a voracious JS.
You need at least 16GB of RAM now, preferably 24+.
Otherwise, everything is standard: the percentage is relatively fresh, SSD.
At the same time, there is less RAM on my home gaming computer than on a weak working laptop, and this is enough for the house.
In general, if you have endless money, then probably a macbook about 15 or 13 is better, then just choose your size, there is more than enough hardware for layout, if not a lot of money, then in fact any laptop on the new i5 or i7 and in the u series there is no difference, I'm serious, look at the benchmarks. Vooot, and so on the display, if 15 inches is still too much, then I would recommend looking at the honor magic book or matebook 13, they are small and light. And also zenbooks are not bad.
IMHO the best option is the MSI PS63 with and without a video card. The most versatile option for everything in the world
In terms of RAM, a laptop with 16 gigs will be too expensive, IMHO it’s better to either take a laptop with the ability to upgrade, or score and take 8. You won’t lift docker-compose from 10 containers there
By the way, for layout, I generally recommend having a minimal video card in the laptop, or even better without it at all, otherwise they will catch up there that it slows down even at 1070
