Hello! Moving to another city, enrolling in the first year, studying web development (RoR, JavaScript, HTML/CSS). Interested in your advice on choosing a laptop / netbook / ultrabook with the longest working time, so that you can successfully work all day in pairs, lectures and code, of course :) Top-end hardware is not necessary, the main thing is the screen and battery. I can allocate up to about 40k rubles. Also, if there is a desire to help, a couple of tips on optimizing the system will not be superfluous, again for the sake of increasing the cherished hours of work.

I have already spent quite a lot of time on your question, tk. You have to work on a weak laptop with a small screen and a powerful computer with a large screen.
My opinion: as the person here already wrote in comment 1 - to work on a macbook, this person must have eagle vision, because it’s easy to shoot yourself, you can sit and stick in 11-13 inches.
The second aspect: Do not underestimate the power of the laptop. The first year everything will be ok, maybe, and then you will still have a sip of grief.
I'm also going to take a laptop, so far I decided to take for myself for programming some thickness no more than 2-2.5 cm, 17 inches, and i5-i7 with U indices - just the same for low power consumption. Because I have to drag around with a laptop "in total" 6 kg, then I don’t care for weight xDD one fig for 3 kg I have not seen.
Describe more precisely what is most important to you and how many hours of battery life will be enough for you? )

Acer - for those who are not afraid of dirt, dust, etc., but of average quality. - Asus was cleaned 1 time

MacBook was cleaned 4 times - calculator .. even with the highest parameters it is from dust just died, not even recoverable. - died during the first cleaning ..
All laptops were personally checked at the construction site ... At the moment, Acer is still alive ...
You can write that all equipment is afraid of dust and dirt, but the results of all these laptops gave a conclusion at the place of their operation. .. And it still works!
