Based on the datasheets from the Cisco website, the WS-C4948-S is more productive, but it does not have 10GB ports, and 2 10G ports can be inserted into the 3750
3750 is positioned as an access switch, 49xx as an aggregator is already in the server room. 3750 supports stacking + some accessibility features (mainly for VoIP phones). For the core, I would generally put something modular with two power supplies and control boards, with 10ge ports.
