Which is better to use when configuring LTSP, nfs or nbd?
Googling on this issue only leads to an old article on sourceforge.
The official doc says nothing about this. I raise this case on Debian. In their Debian Edu project, they use NBD. There is only a mention in the news on the site
LTSP now uses the NBD root file system instead of NFS.

Plus NBD - network speed.
The downside is that with each software update for client machines, it is necessary to rebuild the NBD image, and also, if some files need to be added during the operation of client machines so that they become visible to the client, it will not work.
My recommendations are to keep the main system image in NBD + mount some folders via NFS for prompt delivery of files from the server to the client.
