There is a suspicion that you still found the program you were looking for toster.ru
Or the one to whom you installed it - found it and "gave it back"
And if you take the question seriously, then in many cases even software is not required. It is enough for an attacker to know and exploit vulnerabilities.
UPD: It is interesting to know the OS and its version, as well as a kind of infrastructure outline, in order to answer something useful.

What programs are better to use to detect it?

Use Linux... and go to sleep ;-)

If the attack was targeted, then no programs will find anything. If the attack was carried out by "kakers", then Malwarebytes, for example, is enough. If there is time - migrate the data, format the screw, install the system again.

Here I look and I can’t understand, it seems that smart people have gathered, but you say ... Well, nonsense.
Remember the KIDO epidemic? Rearrange the OS at least 10 thousand times, if there is an "infected" computer on the network, then after reinstallation, the virus will return again

I would do according to the following algorithm.
1) I would put AVZ on a couple of machines in order to locally see the contents of the processes: which libraries are used, signed or not, what they do, what they are for and whether I need them.
2) View services: purpose and description. I would pay attention to unsigned services and libraries, I would look at the purpose of the services.
In short, examine running processes and services: for the purpose of their work.
3) I would put a network program for collecting information.
I would find where else on the network there are such processes and services.
I don't really trust antiviruses.
In short, you need to stupidly sort out services and processes and kill all unknown ones.
Producers take care to fill in the fields of descriptions and attach digital signatures.
If they are not there, then it is either handmade, or clumsy software, or a virus, or spyware.

Hey! To get started, try scanning and cleaning your computer with AdwCleaner , it will take about 10 minutes.
Most likely, you will not need anything else.
In the future, check the system from time to time with this program, use an antivirus, and install a browser extension, such as Ghostery.
Good luck!
