Which is better: a thematic blog or about everything?

1. I plan to keep my personal blog, but I'm confused...
On third-party sites, they affirmatively state that the site should be thematic, they say if you write about everything, then you won't see the TOP, and they will always give preference to thematic / narrowly topical sites.
If you write on a blog about (for example) politics, wordpress, music, then there will be a "salad" in the eyes of the PS, and no article in the TOP will come out.

Top blogging is not to be seen anyway unless you started it 10 years ago. The path to the top is long and the main indicator is the interestingness and quality of the content.
Most importantly, there will be a salad for the visitor. The main thing is the behavioral factor, regular readers. If you think that there are people who are interested in wp and politics at the same time - no problem. But it seems to me that even the age audience is different here.
PS: If you want to succeed, make an interesting blog - do it for people, and search engines will catch up.

For the top, it doesn’t matter, the whole difference is in the methods of promotion, and this and that moves to the top
