Which hardware or laptop to choose for PhpStorm/Docker?

Hello everyone
Help with development hardware.
I work in the PhpStorm IDE (very large projects, the vendor folder is several gigs), Docker, and everything related to it. OS - Ubuntu/Win10
At the moment I have a five-year workaholic Acer P253MG, i3-3120M, 8GB, SSD Tired of
frequent lags. Basically - when multiple applications and PhpStorm are open at the same time.
When Storm starts re-indexing a 1.5 gig vendor directory from scratch, everything falls apart, even the mouse cursor. And it lasts for half an hour.
Decided to choose a new hardware in order to forget about the performance problem
Budget - no more than $1k.
Questions:
1) Is it possible to take a decent laptop in this budget? And which?
2) If yes - how much will it merge to a desktop of the similar price?
3) If you take a desktop, then only a small, not full-sized system unit (we often move around the world with our families). Are such machines possible on adult stones?
4) And if you take a desktop - then which i5 / i7 to choose? Their something immeasurably divorced in the market
Thank you)

The Lenovo IdeaPad 520-15IKB (80YL00LXRA) is suitable for you because it is lightweight and will pull everything, there are already 16 GB of RAM and a 4 gig video card + 1TB HDD + SSD 256 GB + 15 "IPS. True, there is DOS and two cores, but it will suit you.
Can. I won’t tell you which one, because I don’t know, but on M.video for 30 there is quite a good one.
Firstly, it will merge the desktop in general, because there is no normal cooling system there, and the main drawback of the nettop is the cooling system.
To be honest, in theory, not very much, but overheating can be forced to go into defense and reduce performance.
Unfortunately, you can’t put Ryzen in there either.
Quite. There are also those with i7, which I think is enough for you.

And if you take a desktop - then which i5 / i7 to choose? Their something immeasurably divorced in the market
Of course, i7 is better, but if there are 8 gigs of RAM, then i7 will not help you, it's better to buy with i5, but 16 gigs.
