Which graphics card to choose for Ubuntu?

What is the best graphics card to buy for Ubuntu?
Was, GeForce GTX 260, bought in 2008.
I would like with similar characteristics, at a minimum price. I don't play games.

If you use proprietary drivers - any nVidia will work fine, AMD too, but I would recommend nVidia. If open ones are one of the best Radeon HD6870 cards, I don’t recommend buying the latest Rx, nVidia with open firewood is not so good yet, you can’t even think about games even on top ones.
