Which FTP server under linux to choose?

You need to transfer the FTP server from windows (filezilla) to linux. Currently, both local accounts and active directory are used.
Please advise free FTP, with SSL support, and with the ability to authenticate both locally and through AD.
I would like feedback from people who have personal experience using these servers.
