Which external monitor to buy for Macbook Pro 2017 - 4K or 2K?

Hello. Soon I plan to take the Macbook pro 2017 and use it as a desktop computer at home with an external monitor and actually a laptop anywhere else.
A serious question arose with the choice of monitor, namely, with what resolution to take this very monitor.
Roughly speaking, I consider two options -

  • - 25" 2K (Philips 258B6QUEB)
  • - 27" 4K (LG 27UD88-W)

I work with web development, I do not do video editing and photo editing.
I wonder if everything will be too small on a 4K monitor. How does scaling work in MacOS in general - does it only enlarge icons, program panels, or websites, for example, too? Won't it happen that I, for example, open a website, and it will take up 20% of the total space with too small unreadable font, and the rest is a white zone?
On the other hand, many say that the clarity of the image and the absence of visible pixels decides and after 4K you don’t want to switch to something less.
Before that, I used 23.5 "Full HD from Samsung. Diagonally, in principle, it suited me for work.
I would be glad to hear your advice.
Thank you.
