Which editor to choose Sublime, Brackets, Atom?
Hello.
What to stop from the specified editors? One is better than the other.
I like Sublime, but I met him before the rest (and he will be older), but I don’t want to miss something more convenient, perhaps.
It is planned to use for layout, js, php.

Previously worked on Sublime, now switched to Atom.
1. Sublime definitely wins in performance, but if you are not building portals or online stores with a large bunch of catalogs, the difference is hardly noticeable.
2. Settings are more convenient in Atom IMHO. You do not sit in the code and do not prescribe the desired value for the theme and the like (Sublime). If you wish, you can, and ATOM provides such an opportunity, also completely rewrite the design yourself.
3. Packages popular in sublime text'e are also present in ATOM.
4. It is not necessary to install the package control at the very beginning.
5. Syntax support in ATOM sucks, even with additional packages.
Whichever is more convenient and use it, sooner or later the majority will come to the IDE. Switching from Sublime text to ATOM or vice versa is easy. Hotkeys are the same, rewrite mixins.
PS I've heard for a long time that ATOM wanted to introduce synchronization of packages so as not to re-install on a new workplace. Maybe already present and this is a big plus
As an option, you can look at Visual Studio Code from Microsoft. Also cross-platform, has plugins, themes and supports many languages. Although it is based on the same technologies as Atom, it is much faster.
(+-) atom: at the end of November 2016 still a bit damp
(-+) brackets: buggy, I use it only for quickly extracting layers from psd
(-) phpstorm: for simple web development (landing pages, bitrix, joomla, wordpress, ..) redundant
(given an incomplete list of what I have configured now); of the minuses (IMHO): sometimes there is not enough analogue of atom commander (the file navigator plugin sometimes lacks functionality and convenience); sometimes the sftp plugin lacks 1) as in atom remote-ftp, a sidebar through the remote server tree for quick navigation into the depth of the site 2) displaying file access rights and last modification dates; some interface elements cannot be configured through themes/settings; proprietary by some interface elements cannot be configured through themes/settings; proprietary by some interface elements cannot be configured through themes/settings; proprietary by

One thing is for sure: Sublime is faster and more productive, and outperforms the competition in some ways. Here is a detailed comparison. Spoiler - the best score will be just Sublime.
I join the previous speaker. Not only does SublimeText outperform in terms of speed, it also has a bunch of different goodies that help in the work unrealistically. Such as emmet and of course easymotion! =) I
recommend to look at the sorax channel for a review of the sublime, you fall in love with a text editor at first sight <3
Previously used notepad++, then switched to Sublime 2 (I use my plugins), tried Atom - the same sublime, but bigger, heavier. As a result, I returned to sublime.
I really like Brackets so far . There are a lot of plug-ins for every taste, the speed of work is quite satisfactory, although there are blunts at the first load. The rest I specifically downloaded to click - some seemed less convenient to me, and a lot of things need to be installed gemorno (such as sublime plugins).
