Which do you prefer: Windows 8.1 or Windows 10?

Hello!
At my university (where I work) there was a question about purchasing a large number (~ 500) copies of Windows for workplaces instead of Windows XP. And the most current versions of Windows at the moment are both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. In connection with this, we have a dilemma, which one to prefer?
Who thinks and thinks about this?
Is it worth it to chase the novelty or prefer a slightly older version?

You simply don't have a choice. You will buy 10.
However, you have the right to use the 8-ku for the same face.
In general, I would advise the 10th and use it. And you have new skills, and it is faster on the same hardware. There really is nothing special new in normal use, and there is nothing.

10 after the November update will feel faster

Better than 10 (8, although stable, but it is still more of a transitional link between 7 and 10).
The reasons are quite banal - first of all, it is more convenient, more thoughtful, and in the end it is much easier to get used to it. On a scale of ~500 PCs, this is also an important factor (at least saving time on helping those for whom 8.1 is like a Rubik's cube).
For the rest of the parameters, in principle, there is no particular difference at the moment.

In the top ten, after the November update, improved work with memory. And yes, it's more convenient. There are gaps in usability in the 8 - the two types of applications work in completely different ways.
There is not much choice - the eight can "accidentally" upgrade to ten.

you have no choice. Windows 10. There is nothing wrong with that, by the way.
something else is more interesting: how are you with the server solution?
