Which distro is suitable for Asus X550CC?
Good day to all.
I want to switch to some distribution kit on the Linux kernel
. My laptop has the following parameters.
Core I3-3217U 1.8GHz
4GB Ram
Nvidia 720M
Atheros Adapter
To avoid sex with the laptop, Ubuntu GNU/Linux and Centos were recommended.
Guys, please tell me what will suit him right away so that you don’t have to have sex with him with a laptop after installing the distribution kit?

Disable the discrete graphics card in the bios, if possible, and install 14.04. For those who will read this answer later than May 2016 - put 16.04. An alternative option is to start learning Linux in a virtual machine, where your real hardware will not play a special role.
Why ubuntu and not centos? The official repository is much larger, you don't have to install software from the left sources. And trust in software sources is the cornerstone of a security system.
For the future - do not buy laptops with discrete graphics cards. Integrated video from Intel and on the desktop is sufficient for most applications, but for a laptop it is generally the only reasonable choice. Why do you need an additional iron inside such a compact case, for which there are not even normal opensource drivers?
ps. Intel urgently needs a competitor - the lack of rivalry always leads to degradation. Maybe at least AMD will finally please us this year?
In this case, install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS - the least chance of any problems. You can install Ubuntu 15.10 if you want better performance.
It won't work without sex - bumblebee still needs to be put with your hands :)
That is, there will be sex in any case, be it Ubuntu, be it Sentos?
Guys. Can you recommend any distro with the least sex after installation?
