Which dissertation topic to choose?
Hello!
I am studying for a master's degree in the specialty "Linguistic means of CAD VLSI and systems on a chip." The question arose about choosing a dissertation topic, which should be related to the area under study, that is, with electronics.
But at the same time, I would like to connect this to a greater extent with programming (I would very much like to implement something in the form of a web service). But unfortunately at the moment I can not find anything suitable or come up with.
I would be grateful for possible examples, useful resources or direction in which to dig.
Thanks in advance!
PS I'll correct the question, since the answers are a little off the mark. I have already chosen a supervisor (the only one who takes people in the direction of programming) and, unfortunately, he does not offer anything specific, but what I offer is either not relevant yet, or cannot be tied to my subject area.

You need to choose a supervisor, brainick is right. You have several leaders in your department, walk around them and ask what they do (or, you already know what each one does).
You choose the direction you want. But there is a limitation - just the leader.
But sometimes, if you have a good relationship with the departments, if you have already proven yourself, then they can meet halfway, and maybe (maybe!) some leader will agree to take the lead in your topic.
But it is possible that the best solution would be to take the already known direction. Your department is likely to do one (or several) specific things. And you will take an already known direction, and you will take some part of the general cathedral work. So it will be easier for you, and the result will be more stable.
In general, for starters, choose a leader, go to him, and tell him what you would like to do. And the leader will offer you something that is necessary for him and suitable for you.
PS Do you plan to go on to graduate school? then you need to choose the topic of the master's work so that it becomes the basis of postgraduate work.
When I wrote my dissertation, 80-90% of scientific leaders knew what was fresh and innovative in applied mathematics 10-20 years ago. Thank God Habr helped and watching videos from the latest conferences on the subject. Challenge yourself in what is now in trend, and the scientific one will correct you from very gross mistakes.
"You will remain guided by the leader's goals until you learn new route details yourself."
