Which desktop mailer works best with GMail?

Due to a temporarily bad connection (you have to use the "basic HTML" interface in GMail), I thought about how to use some kind of mail client in the old days. Which one is best friends with GMail IMAP? Thunderbird, Evolution, KMail (although, I use GNOME, I wouldn't want a KDE search engine (whatever it is...) behind the mailer), Claws, or maybe The Bat?
First of all, I would like it to correctly understand GMail's labels (for example, it does not consider them independent non-overlapping folders and does not consider the same letter with several labels to be several different letters), incl. trash, drafts, sent and spam.

Thunderbird since version 3.0 integrates perfectly with Gmail.
Labels Gmail understands perfectly, displays them as folders.
The reverse is also true - when you create folders in Thunderbird, the corresponding labels are automatically created in Gmail.
A multi-level folder structure is also supported - in this case, labels are created in Gmail, in the name of which there is a slash.
In general, the integration is wonderful, the web interface and the mail client are now almost the same, especially if you configure mail sending via Gmail's SMTP.
Only one nasty glitch was noticed.
Naturally, when a letter is received, it goes to the "Inbox" folder and to the folders corresponding to the labels.
So, when reading a letter, it is marked as read only in the folder in which it was opened.
It would be logical if it were marked as read in all folders at once.
True, after restarting Thunderbird, it will be marked as read everywhere, which only confirms once again that this is a bug, not a feature.
I tried to update to version 3.1, but this bug is still present in it.

Try Zimbra Desktop. It seems to integrate quite tightly with gmail.

The problem is not a bad connection, it's something they broke there. I also have mail in “basic HTML” on the chicest channel now. Nothing, let's be patient, everyone sometimes has fak-ups.

ClawsMail can show everything in chains, like GMail. Chains can be separated if desired. It seems to me the closest to Gmail's web interface. And I really liked the system of filters that are executed not when I receive mail, but at a convenient time for me (first I read the mail, then I press "Processing" - and the letters are sorted into folders in accordance with the specified filters).

Sparrow is created mixed under Gmail. Supports chains and all that. It is currently in beta and does not support anything other than Gmail.

It seems to me when the mailer is not needed if you use Gmail :)
