Modern monitors have a color depth of 24 bits. This is 8 bits for each R, G, B component. It does not matter which mode to work in. The main thing before saving is to change the mode to 8 bits. Many people tend to work in 8 bits per channel right away, but I prefer 16 bits, as this avoids aliased gradients. If you don’t want to bother and figure out what dithering is, then just choose 8 bits, as it is set in Photoshop by default. There will be no problems with displaying graphics.
