As for me, MODX is better because it's not like it's more CMF and not CMS and you can deploy anything on it. Up until you need it, you can generally just connect its kernel and develop the system from scratch. From personal experience, I’ll say that on Modx I raised stores with imports from 1C from 30,000+ items of goods without any problems. To me, WordPress is like a children's slag factory. Everyone takes it because there are a lot of things, as mentioned above. But no one thinks about how much garbage these ready-made modules carry. Not to mention a large number of vulnerabilities. WordPress is free to use for orders of the type I want a website and not expensive. As for me it is the most. I found Free Template, stuck it on modules and sold it.
I am for wordpress.
1) Beautifully modern at minimal cost
2) A huge plus is a bunch of paid / free plugins for almost any need.
3) More likely to find a ready-made solution for integrating something on the site (unless, of course, you have a separate programmer for this)
On the one for which you have more specialists
corporate sites and shops...
I'm for Modx! Suitable for almost any project of medium complexity. Flexible settings, easy design integration, security.
