Which C# compiler and debugger on mac?

Please advise compiler and debugger C# on mac with interface. I tried xamarin studio + mono developer - nonsense, nothing is clear, how, what, I can’t stupidly compile hello world, so I realized that this is more suitable for developing mobile applications.
I tried VS Code, somehow configured it to work with c#, the example that the program loads works, but its structure is very different from the structure of examples on msdn. Since I'm just getting started with this language, I need a debugger that won't accept msdn code, and doesn't require "special treatment".

Virtual - Windows - Visual Studio
Everything else is perverse

The most optimal option is the second OS. No IDE for .NET now compares to the studio. I tried, probably, all the options for the poppy.

Sharpdevelop + mono, I haven't tried it myself.
There is also a vizul studio code, I haven’t tried it either,
They wrote about the virtual machine above.
