, I have downloaded rare music in flac and other formats, now I want to pour the whole thing neatly onto CDs, and MP3s too. Recommend software for mac to convert from format to format and write to disk.

xld to write and rip the thing.
for the envelope, use Pro Audio Converter
https://www.mediahuman.com/audio-converter/ if you need to cut the solid file by cue.
