Which 200+ GB SSD do you recommend for a Windows laptop?
I welcome everyone. I read a number of topics about SSD and I'm thinking of buying one for my laptop, putting it in place of the hard drive, and using a sled to insert the hard drive into the place of the DVD drive (give a SATA III port for the SSD). The requirements are standard for a student: a quick start of the system with all programs is required (at the moment it takes ~ 4 minutes from the HDD, which can cause inconvenience while studying), quick launch and work in programs, including a browser, Microsoft Office, potentially Adobe Photoshop , Adobe Premiere Pro and other resource-intensive, as well as economical applications, perhaps small toys, and, which is no less a key factor, low power consumption.
I watched SSD reviews on various resources, including foreign ones, and noticed for myself an excellent option in the face of the Samsung 850 Pro (256GB). I already thought of ordering, as I read that the data on this drive is not protected from power outages (Power Loss Protection), and, accordingly, if the laptop freezes (which happens once every 2-4 weeks) and I decide to turn it off manually by holding the power button, or taking out the battery, then I risk damaging the data, or maybe the SSD itself?
Is it so?
If the information is true, then which SSD is better to choose?
I am considering purchasing a solid-state drive in Moscow, at a price of up to 15,000 rubles.
Information about the current configuration of my laptop is available below.

The Samsung 850 EVO is not much inferior to the Pro in terms of performance (in some everyday scenarios it even surpasses it due to the buffer from the memory operating in SLC mode), but it will cost much less. Samsungs generally have a very good reputation for reliability, on par with Crucial, Intel, Plextor. (However, it's worth noting that everyone has had problems at different points in time, but the problems listed above were not related to data loss or a complete failure of the drive.) Now I'm using 850 EVO 500 GB on my home computer, the flight is excellent. There is also a Crucial M4 64 GB as a system drive - there are no complaints about it either, although it is noticeably slower.
As for Power Loss Protection, this is a bit of an odd requirement for a laptop - it already has a battery for that purpose. I would advise you to solve the problem with freezes and not turn it off in a hard way. On the other hand, if the laptop just freezes tightly, then the disk is no longer being written to, which means there is nothing to defend against.
As for the quick wake-up, I have an old Samsung N140 netbook with a hard drive and Windows XP did it in a few seconds. Because I did not turn it off, but put it into hibernation (hibernate, that is). There was no reason to turn it off, because the system was kept in exemplary order, and not a single program was installed or launched unnecessarily, so it still works like a clock without reinstalling Windows, which I installed back in 2009 .

not a single SSD protects against information loss,
and if the HDD can be restored for a lot of money by replacing the controller or for a lot - considering it with a laser,
then the controller algorithms SSD is the know-how of manufacturers, for this reason
you can also hear a good tale "it will be closed - it will be impossible to write, but it will be possible to read" (since the old X-25 intels), in practice - if you're lucky - Windows will pour a blue screen and, by connecting as an external one, something can be written off in time; if you're not lucky, it will only be recognized as a drive of indeterminate capacity and that's it ... neither read, nor write, nor format,
therefore
... are divided into two categories: those who do not make backups yet, and those who already do them
(experienced ones also check the performance of those made)
My opinion may be erroneous because today is already Friday. But I will say.
You have a good Core i5-3230M processor that supports 1600 MHz memory and you are using only 667 . - this is not reasonable in my opinion. Don't give this fact a low priority - memory is important.
Regarding shutdowns and long loading, 4 minutes is a long time, there are two aspects that we will analyze - software and technical.
Technical:
Check the OP - in my experience this is one of two common problems with laptops. (tests can be found on Google)
To clean the laptop - as I understand it, you always have a laptop, which means there is a high probability of an excessive amount of dust.
System:
Look at the task scheduler - there can be a lot of left tasks from all sorts of browsers and programs.
If you replace kaspersky antivirus - I have nothing against kaspersky on a PC, but for laptops it turns out to be very difficult - it does not depend on the configuration of the laptop, since it takes system resources in% ratio.
If you have not done this yet, then delete all programs that were from asus branded except for working with batteries - as a rule, the user does not use all these branded programs, but they eat a lot of iron.
To sum up:
My recommendations:
Replace the OP with 1600 MHz for 4 GB each (it is possible for 8, so even better prospects for the future)
I personally recommend to clean the
Kingston SV300S37A/240G SSD System https://market.yandex.ru/product/8526046?hid=91033 - 3 years ends with a normal flight with it.
There is only one BUT in our family there are 3 asus laptops on 2 of 3 hard drives, this one wound up on 1 no. Be carefull!
I agree with the previous speaker on the topic of cleaning everything that can be cleaned, however ... I
suspect that the HDD is not the fastest 5400 , not 7200 . The difference between them is monstrous, especially on win7. So you can safely throw it away and buy ... SSD.
I myself use OCZ Vertex 4 (2 home computers), there is samsung in the ultrabook - in principle, everything is fine so far.
By the way, if you want to compare parrots - you are welcome .

I prefer Micron (Crucial).

not a single ssd is protected from this, and in some places it may also
be time to figure out why the laptop freezes 4 times a week, for example, my laptop does not freeze at all.
