Of course, you can joke: you need to start learning QT5 with QT4 :)
But seriously, without the base of the C / C ++ programming language, knowledge of the operating system, web technologies, you can’t get anywhere. Well, algorithmization, networks, mathematics, statistics, administration - all this will be integral parts of your study.
There are books about QT, I don’t remember the author, but by googling you will even find Russian-language versions of books. English is a must-have and forever!
Take any task, for example - to implement 2048 on pure QML. And you decide. On Habré just a post on the topic .
With the new library - only practice.

Qt is a cross-platform C++ framework. It has excellent documentation. Just start using it to create GUI and solve application problems.
A large list of things to read about linux.
with video lessons on YouTube - very easy to bring up to date and it becomes clear at least something.
I myself just in 3-4 days with the help of these lessons "mastered" qt at the level of "I know that I don't know anything, but at least I see where and how to move for development." though before that I had good and broad basic knowledge
, in general, I would advise you to solve a problem / program / develop an application
and develop and not teach
