Where to start learning FreeBSD?

Hello!
Guru, tell the teapot where to start learning FreeBSD? What do you need to be able to configure in this system and how best to use it at the familiarization stages?
Should a graphical interface be installed or is it recommended to work exclusively in the console?
Thanks in advance!

From Linux. Why is FreeBSD even needed in 2017? His popularity has faded.

start with Lucas's book ..
most importantly, grasp the "inner beauty" of the system's logic - and then the interface issue will disappear by itself ..

Start with where it makes the most sense to use FreeBSD, what are the advantages/differences of FreeBSD from other *nix systems. So there are not so many niches, but they remain to this day, despite the screams about the death of this OS, which have been observed on the Internet for the last 20 years.
Tasks for example:

  • No GUI - this is a server OS, why is it?
  • You can set up a filtering gateway using ipfw or pf
  • You can set up ZFS storage
  • Can customize CARP
  • Maybe something else...
  • PROFIT

Without GUI.
If you want a GUI, then this is PC-BSD, not FreeBSD. But to start studying with the Guev system is not worth it. Better naked.
