Where to start (Book on Statistics for Machine Learning)?
Good afternoon.
Please advise a good book on the basics of statistics, and, in general, on mathematics (except for matan and terver), on which machine learning is based. Now I have finished school, I want to play around with MO for the soul, I took up the simplest book I found: Willi Richert, Luis Pedro Coelho - Building Machine Learning Systems with Python - 2013. And I start to slowly run into some concepts from statistics, for example, about which didn't even hear it. I repeat, I am a schoolboy, I want to read, work out the mathematics that is required for IR, its foundations, in order to understand what is happening in principle. While I fall for all sorts of abstracts of the Mekhmat of the 5th semester. I would like something like the basics of the basics of complex mathematics)
Thank you.

There is a book on machine learning with examples in C #, where everything is described with almost no formulas - Machine Learning Using C# Succinctly.
