I tried to find a clear article on creating a menu module - no / did not find it, I tried to implement the idea by changing the standard one - in the end it resembles some kind of hacks, tricks, etc. Not pretty code. I myself deal with css and html, ... php, javascript very superficially - I'm working on learning (but I can understand the essence).
Connoisseurs, attention to the question: does someone know an article on creating a module (intelligible, with an explanation), or is just some empty menu module suitable for a start, like with a template for a site - jblank with explanations?

The advice is as follows: in Joomla, you can connect several themes to one site. Grab a free theme with a menu similar to the one you want, and start sorting it out one by one. It is difficult to help you in isolation from the real situation, and you don’t want to. But it’s worth doing just that, since you don’t know php and other things that you need. Then the topic can be removed from the site.
And if you are developing locally, then in general you can put yourself another site with some kind of ready-made site (there are a lot of them on the network)
