Where to install the hypervisor?

The situation - we have a tower server with local storage, storage systems are not used. Let's say there are 5 identical terabyte disks. We want to make a virtualization host, but where to put the hypervisor itself? In cases of installing ESXI and Hyper-V.
The simplest options immediately come to mind - install it on a separate hard disk, or on raid1 for reliability, but just giving a disk or two to a hypervisor (which doesn’t really need much space) looks like it’s not rational. How to proceed then?
I also read that ESXI is generally installed on a flash drive, but it’s not clear what the reliability of such a solution is, but how to recover if the flash drive fails, and is there a similar practice for Hyper-V?

Esxi can be easily installed on a USB flash drive and works quite well, there are not many write operations there. If you save the configuration and have a duplicate flash drive, recovery takes 10 minutes.
As far as I know, for hyper-v this number will not work.
Esxi will not get up on a software raid. It's best to set up a hardware raid, put all the disks together and put esxi on it all.
Although esxi and hyper-v virtualization is not limited. You can also use proxmox or kvm.

If there is a raid controller, then, let's say, you make raid10 and cut two logical volumes on it - one for the system, the other for vm storage.
