Where to improve knowledge on VDS?

Hello! I kept a dozen of my sites on a shared ... finally decided on VDS, there is an isp panel preinstalled, everything is the same as on Wirth hosting, everything is set up, but there are a number of questions, for example, how to set up Memcached now, now set up mail forwarding, now it doesn’t work . The most pressing question is whether my ubuntu is getting updates and what to do if these updates crash the server, disable some web server component .... because downtime is very critical.

Practice, Google and documentation.
Gone are the days of any community. Information must be obtained.

VDS is its own virtual machine, and like everywhere else it has its pros and cons :)
Pros - no one specifies how many sites to keep and which version of this or that package to install
Cons - do everything yourself. Installing and updating, backup and unbackup and all other tasks - all by myself. If there is something valuable, I immediately recommend mastering dump / restore to a local machine (dump allows you to dump a live filesystem)
Bubunta has a zillion mana - it is noob, so there is much more mana for it than for other distributions.

It should be noted right away that isp really does not like "manual" intervention. If there is an option to configure something through the panel, use the best ones, otherwise you risk breaking the functionality.
In the rest, indeed, now everything is known by googling. It is advisable to immediately look for mana in the "OS version + isp" bundle.
You can ask the hoster to make a full dump of the container with your virtual machine and provide it to you or store it on their side. In case of problems, you can quickly recover from it.

Hello. You can consider Cloudlinux's KernelCare product integration module, which is a program that goes around every hour and checks for new patches and installs them automatically. So you will be sure that your OS has the latest updates, the amount of downtime will be reduced. https://www.ispsystem.ru/addons-modules/kernel-care
We also write detailed documentation, it is at https://docs.ispsystem.ru/ispmanager-lite
And if you have any questions, then ask them from your personal account https://my.ispsystem.com, we will be happy to help :)
