Where is the intersection point between machine learning and robotics?

And does it exist at all?
Love both of these areas. Ideally, I would like to combine them and make it my job . I'm trying to figure out how real this is. In hobby projects, you can do both, and that's understandable. But more serious level is interesting.
As far as I can see now, the division of labor rules in combat development. However, there must be "interdisciplinary" specialists.
Does anyone know real examples where such people are needed? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Judging from the question, I strongly doubt that you are such a person. I mean one who equally and deeply knows both.
You know, dreams are very different from reality.
Therefore, study at least one thing first. And there you will find the intersection points. Or it will stop being interesting.

Feel your split personality. Such people - no one needs.
The answer to the question: the point of intersection is in the microcontroller, controlled through the I / O ports by the device / decision block.
