Where is the Ethereum Events log stored?

Question to Ethereum experts, I can not understand. From what I read, I realized that event logs are not stored on the Ethereum blockchain, but they are generated by it. But the question is, where then are they stored and for how long? Whether it is possible to reach logs we will tell in a year?
