Where is the best place to store photos, videos and other documents?

After the data disk crashed and the photo collection was partially lost, I began to think about where to store it all.
The first thing that came to mind was Icloud (there are Mac and Iphone), but it's a little expensive and it's not known how to connect it all with Windows.

I watched DropBox and so on, but I want to find the best solution. Who will advise what?

Look towards www.crashplan.com . I use the Family Unlimited plan for 10 computers, a little less than 1TB is used in total. I had to restore the info 2 times - successfully. They currently have a promotion for new customers - 20% off - on a plan for one computer for one year, www.crashplan.com/ff20/ (link is visible for existing customers to give away to friends and family (: ).
Bitcasa.com - I use partially .

Maybe copy.com is right for you?
They immediately give 15 GB of space, and if you use a referral link like this (yes, I say again, this is my referral link), then all 20.
For money ($9.99) you can buy 250 GB from them. The rest is the same Dropbox, only in profile.

I use evernote.com and bitcasa.com. What doesn't get into the evernote will definitely be in the bitcoin

Why is Dropbox not suitable for the same? The answer will help to better present the problem.

photos on flickr with a given terabyte of space, documents in skydrive / dropbox / isorage / gdocs, depending on, but the music is most likely all on the network, you can store only unique things that are hard to find.
Well, the most important thing is a file with a password database.

I wonder why everyone offers clouds, but no one offered the same NAS with two or more screws in the raid? For example, I have a NAS with 2 1TB screws in the mirror for personal photos at home.
All traffic is local, plus NAS's have the functionality to work with almost any OS. To store the media library - it's the most.

It is for photos - the Yandex.Fotki service may be suitable - there you can create hidden albums and the place is not limited.
A similar service - fotki.com - also has unlimited space.
The advantage is that you can view and show pictures from anywhere.
The downside is that you can’t upload anything except for photos, and it’s not so easy to merge everything back in one archive, although there are scripts for this for Yandex.photos.
And for the rest of the data, +1 for the NAS, on which you can install the Seafile service from above - versions of the photos will also be stored if something is corrected or deleted. But I advise you to store NAS not in the same apartment, but in another, for example, under the bed of your grandmother, because. a lot of bad things can happen to an apartment - they will clean it, a fire, but 2 apartments will not be cleaned at the same time.
Well, if you use a NAS as the main storage, then it’s better to spend money on 2 NAS in different apartments than on 1 NAS with a raid, because not only hard drives die, but also iron.
Pros NAS - cheap and virtually unlimited space with no monthly subscription fees. Won 2 terabytes can be bought for $ 100 - even when using CrashPlan, it will pay off in a couple of years.

By the way, today is the last day, it seems, to get one terabyte for free in the MAIL.RU cloud.
IMHO the pocket does not pull the stock. You can reserve a place and reserve a place ...
Not now, it may come in handy later ..

From my point of view, the simplest (but at the first stage expensive) solution is to mirror each hard drive.
Two propellers will not fly at the same time. In which case, you transplant the mirror to the place of the one that flew, and that's it (well, put a new mirror, of course).
At the same time, none of my files are merged into the Network (this is important for me). The capacity is exactly what you need. Mirroring is personally configured for me through xStarter, I considered the use of raids unjustified. Something like that. He just expressed his own way, no one is obligated to anything.
