Where is JS used?

I’m just starting to learn layout, and the question arose whether “JS is used only in the front end?” I heard that there are a lot of frameworks for it and everything else (like a node that is used in the back end, but as I understand it, it’s not particularly suitable for this)
So , in what areas is this language still used, roughly speaking, as the main one?
