Where do the developments and code from unsuccessful startups go?

Hello everyone
. Now I was looking through several paycons from the USA and Australia over the past years, and noticed that many of the speakers who told cool things about their startups no longer work there, and the startups themselves have closed.
The question is, what is usually done with what a startup has accumulated? A number of things would be interesting to touch.
