Where do dead freelance orders come from?

Hello! I often see ghost projects on freelance. The customer simply creates an order and does not take anyone to fulfill it. That is, the order just hangs. Why and where do these orders come from?

The vast majority are idiots and dreamers. They sit and scratch their belly, "I'll make my Facebook right now ... I have $50, I need to find a freelancer," they go to advertise, and then it rarely goes further.
We had an incident yesterday. Week we correspond with the client - the girl. Yesterday I sent my husband for negotiations. The husband sat for about 10 minutes, did not understand anything at all and hurriedly ran away. Half an hour later, the girl writes "Sorry, we do not need your services." I ask "Why?", answers "Because you did not explain anything intelligible."
Although the action plan was agreed with her from and to, they showed a beautiful portfolio and (on the recommendation) offered a package of services without prepayment on the terms "if it doesn't work, you don't pay."
That is, well, complete idiocy. This often happens. And unfortunately
Here, in particular, the studio did not help them, and now they will go looking for freelancers. It is obviously a pity for these freelancers - the customer is not only incompetent, but in fact even inadequate.

Freelancing is generally not a rewarding job, so often there are not very high-class specialists, as a high-class specialist does not want to waste time on miscalculations of projects that are unlikely to work. But there are also specialists, they are just supermen! I am from the wholesale business, we only pay 30% of invoices, the remaining 70 are just miscalculations. And this is still a good indicator, so it's like that everywhere.

For me, this has already become commonplace, we discuss the order, I name the price, they say it's expensive, after six months I ask -
how did it work out, - yes, I ask you to throw off the link to see, they merge. What does it have to do with it when 50% of the project is already done, for example, there is a painted technical specification and a ready-made design, that is, it remains to make up and pull on kms.

There may be different reasons.
- He himself decided or someone suggested that Facebook can be made for 500 greenbacks, then he saw the real price and was blown away.
- Just find out the price tag for your idea and then run around looking for investors.
- They work directly past the service, on the service only the first contact.
- Freelancers or project managers are cunning, who feel sorry for spending their time on costing or their competence is not enough for this.
- And other inadequate.
If possible, then you need to look at the history of the customer. When he has only requests and not a single ordered project, then this is a dummy with a high probability.
