Where can one learn how to use socket.io along with visitor sessions ('authorization')?

I'm still learning node, but I can't find anywhere how to properly attach autorization to chat and how to use sessionID. A lot of information is outdated.

But there is an easier option.. hack... use express's session as middle in socket.io and that's it :)
