Where can I get tutorials / books with a description of joomla api and examples of working with it?

Good afternoon!
Please suggest sensible (and preferably free) books/tutorials/websites that describe in detail the use of joomla api. It is highly desirable to have examples. The official site, alas, does not give an understanding of the basics.

Look at this book. But the year of release is 2013, and the version of joomla in the book is 2.5. So after mastering the book, you will most likely return to the API documentation.
