I have the following task:
Let's say I have an explay bm50 phone.

I'm interested in compiling my own firmware for it, but the trouble is I have no idea where to get the firmware sources and flash tools.
Are there any bases with such sources or are the firmware assembled "for spare parts"?

In theory, the developers. You can try to write to Explay and ask for the source codes, but something tells you that, referring to the rules of the license used, they will refuse to provide the source codes of the software.
At this point, either disassemble the finished firmware, or write from scratch, which is also an option.
