Markdown

Where can I get markdown?

Hello.
I raised myself a site on wordpress, write all sorts of notes.
And I want to stick code into notes.
From old memory, I decided to use markdown (I used to write something on the wiki, and it seems that I used it).
Googled that in wordpress such markup can be enabled with one checkbox ( https://en.support.wordpress.com/markdown/)
But I did not find such a checkbox in the settings!
It appeared only after installing WP-Markdown.
But.
If I understand correctly, this plugin is already 3 years old.
Plus, it looks like I need PHP Markdown Extra as well.
How to put it I did not understand at all.
There are two questions: how to put Markdown in Wordpress correctly, and is it possible to replace it with something more recent?

Yes, one daw, but we are talking about wordpress.com - a blogging service. )))
I highly recommend using CMS GRAV for your purposes , Markdown comes out of the box, no database is required and the admin area is very elegant.
If you really want to use Markdown in Wordpress, then you can assign it to all posts at once: parse content output through Markdown right in the template. Markdown is bundled into your theme via Comoser. do not forget to run the autoloader at the beginning of functions.php.

yes, in principle, what difference does it make - the plugin is 3 years old or not?) if you raised your site to vp and don’t want to get too far into the code - just go to the plugins -> add new admin panel and select what you like :)
