Screen resolution

Where can I find out what is the most popular screen resolution today?

Is it possible to find out somewhere what is the most popular screen resolution today? Who says sites should be 800 wide. Some believe that 1024 in width is the most relevant now. But I think that it is necessary to do at 1200. So, what to choose after all? 800, thousand or 1200?
Site under Runet, I'm at a loss. I want as wide as possible to fit more. Do not offer rubber, because there is no way out of the situation. The distance between the blocks a little more or less does not give extra blocks.

I advise you to make a resource for a monitor resolution of 1024*768. Please note that this is the resolution of the monitor, not the workspace.
Personally, I focus on the working area 960*600.
I do not advise you to do more - there are too many dissatisfied.

I have a 1280 screen, but the browser window takes up two-thirds - about 900. Most sites are made that way. But rubber sites, like habr, for example, are simply inconvenient to read when the lines are stretched by 1000 pixels - the eye loses them, jumps from one to another, so the window has to be compressed

I think it's worth stopping at 960 wide.
not for nothing there is this resource http://960.gs/ and many people use it, look, it's quite interesting.

@zibada

screen resolution != browser window size
my browser occupies ~ 2/3 of the screen wide, and sometimes I want to tear off the hands of unfortunate designers who do not consider users with a window width of less than 1280 to be people.
good thing they are in the minority.

A little bit of statistics of a short period of work of one non-geek-oriented resource.

Yes, the number of moniks is falling by 1024, but still dominates among the "ordinary" population
