Where can I find information on validating settings on servers?
There are servers that often receive configs sent by people.
There are often errors in these configs. Configs are complex, they cannot be limited in functionality, but I would like to get rid of errors. Those. the applied configurations need to be validated.
How do large companies deal with this? Recommend articles \ literature on the topic, tags on which you can search for solutions.
Googling only found Gixy for nginx. Static analysis of configs is good, but it will not save you from logical errors, for example, about errors on the backend. Do you know more static analyzers? Do you use a universal config validator? - What?
I also heard about traffic mirroring. Ideally, I would like to mirror the response to the server with the new settings and compare - if there are differences, then do not apply the settings to the combat server / do not switch traffic from the old to the new server, but signal an error. A cursory googling also did not give a ready-made solution.
In this question I am talking about nginx http(s) 1/2, but I am considering the topic more generally. Other protocols, general solutions - all advise, I will listen :)
